back to my alma mater today! i brought my sister to DHS’s open house you see… it feels good being there again, it’s like walking down the memory lane. it feels just like yesterday that i was there, but i have graduated for almost 9 years now. i saw my chemistry teacher, Ms Tan. she still looks quite the same, in fact, most TJC tutors who have been there since i was a student look like they never age! maybe teaching the youth is not such a bad thing after all, it keeps us young! i told Ms Tan that i’m currently a Chemistry teacher & that she has inspired me much. she looked happy. keke… in the school hall, i also saw another teacher who used to be my lower secondary form teacher i think, but i can’t really remember her name. quite hard to believe, but she actually said that she found me familiar. teachers have good memory ey? and coincidentally, this teacher was actually my TJC senior and Miss Rita Wong’s student! what a small world. lolx.
i walked around with my sister and her friends and took some pics of the school compound. my sister seems to be quite keen on going to DHS & I seriously would support her decision if not for the dunman high programme and also the temporary reloaction of the school to Buona Vista from 2007 to 2008. there will be some upgrading works on the current site, for e.g. a stadium will be built. well, i guess we will leave till she gets her PSLE results then decide on the next move.
by the time we left, it was already 1 plus in the afternoon. we had been there for nearly 3 hours. i brought the girls to board bus 158 from just outside the school, thinking that it will bring us to Kallang MRT station like before. but obviously the bus route has changed, & we ended up at Aljunied MRT station instead. the three of us went to Tampines, because my sister wanted to buy an autograph book, while i need to collect my repaired food processor from Best Denki. i thought the trip down was pretty much fruitful. the first thing we arrived, we visited a bazaar just next to the train station. we managed to buy nice stickers and wrapping papers as cheap as 10 cents each! the 3 of us simply went crazy choosing the designs we want. we were spoilt for choices.
anyway, today is a ’sinful’ day again, the ’sinful’ items were cup corn, ‘chao nian gao’ (there was a food fair at TM) & bubble tea! when i reached home, there was more. i had fried bee hoon for dinner and also glutinous rice balls. the latter is my all-time favourite! i’m looking forward to mid-autumn festival when the wet market sells those dough which makes good glutinous rice balls. on normal days, the best we can get are those usual kind from the supermarkets…i find the texture not as good.
-the end-
check out these pics i took today.

school dental service, so much convenience! i wished such service was provided last time.
think the casuarina tree at the centre is the one supposedly planted by my batch of students.
the ‘zhong ting’ presented by my graduating batch to the school. as the name suggested, that is a bell (the old kind where u need to ring it manually) mounted at the pavillion. the school has relocated the pavilion, i remember it was somewhere else. think it was to make way for the hostel.
